About the event
The Book Club Reading Group
We are full!
Inspired by the ideas of “re-enchantment” and “commoning”, we will engage with a variety of texts and weave together our personal experiences and thoughts. The structure of the group aims to create a comfortable, non-hierarchical creative space where we can meet and share ideas.
Bringing the theory to life ♡
We will discuss texts -including fiction, essays, academic works, and poetry- that encourage shifts in perspective; proposing ways of thinking, ways of seeing and feeling the world which are questioning and moving beyond the dominant narratives in our society.
Jodie Chinn is a British interdisciplinary artist based in Barcelona. She studied Design at Goldsmiths, University of London and Sound Art at Escola Massana. Jodie Chinn's practice is typically collaborative, interactive and experiential. Last year she ran a reading group based on the book Re-enchanting the World: Feminism and the Politics of the Commons by Silvia Federici and it is these ideas of “re-enchantment” and “commoning” discussed by Federici which will also inspire the form and topics of this group.
-The group will run every other Tuesday, 20hr-22hr
-Places are limited to 12 people
-It is free of charge, but you are welcome to give a donation towards Jodie’s time
-The reading group is open to all and is consciously not limited to academic language
-English will be the main language used
-We encourage you to bring drink and snacks to share
